Diamond Dead with Miss Mobile Home - An Interview

***** Interview with Miss Mobile Home *****

Q. When did Miss Mobile Home started? tell us about the history...
1. Miss Mobile Home was a concept I had been thinking about for maybe ten years. In 2013, I realized I had a collection of material written and started looking for a voice. Meeting our singer, Samantha, she brought so much life and depth to the songs, all the pieces just fell together. We recorded our first EP, Phototaxis, relatively quickly in early 2014, and released that in August.

Q: Who are your influences?
2. We really have an eclectic mix of influences, from Chopin to Pantera. As I write, I hear things almost cinematically so David Lynch is a big influence.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
3. Type O Negative - October Rust
Peter Gabriel - Us
Tom Waits - Alice
School of Seven Bells - Alpinisms
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

Q. How do you feel playing live?
4. We're in the process of getting our live band together so we'll have to wait on that answer.

Q. How do you describe Miss Mobile Home sounds?
5. Drenched in reverb, dipped in atmosphere, sprinkled with stardust and then dropped in the dirt.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
6. We work from my home studio. We like to indulge in finding the right tones and textures for the instruments and not having a studio clock stare you down is great for that. As a guitarist, the guitar tracks are the backbone and then join up the other elements. Samantha then makes it her own with layers and harmonies, and then its mixed and mixed.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
7. They're not "new" but the band No Joy is just the greatest.

Q: Which bands would you love to make a cover version of?
8. We did a cover of Voices Carry by Til Tuesday on the first EP, so we don't mind exploring great songs with a new take if its done right.

Q: What´s the plan for the future....
9. Our plans are making this next EP that we've been working on, getting a killer live band together and seeing what other opportunities come down the line.

Q: Any parting words?
10. Take care of each other, eat your veggies and create something.
