Blood with Bagstiv - An Interview

***** Interview with Bagstiv *****

Q. When did Bagstiv start? Tell us about the history...
A: We started a long time ago with making music, but not really serious. A friend of us invited us to play at a festival in March 2016 she organised and we thought it would be a great idea to make things more serious, so we started to write more songs 2 months before the festival, so I guess we started in early 2016.

Q: Who are your influences?
A: Beach House, Toy, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Beach Fossils, Cocteau Twins, The Soft Moon

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
A: Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights
Tame Impala - Innerspeaker
DIIV - Oshin
The Smiths- The Smiths
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

Q. How do you feel playing live?
A: We only played live once with bagstiv. Since we're a two-piece band we still have to figure out how to keep it interesting on stage. We just keep recording the coming months. We probably hit the road in spring with a solid act.

Q. How do you describe Bagstiv sounds?
A: A lot of reverb and delay, just to cover up that we're a shitty band.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
A: We're a two piece. So basically one of us comes up with an idea and then we try some other things out and then we record them in our bedrooms on our laptops. It often starts with a guitar riff or a chord progression. Then we figure out how we want it to sound and search for sounds on our pedalboards, drum sounds and samples of old drumcomputers. Then we start recording and just see what happens.

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
A: Moses Gunn Collective, Whistlejacket, Flyying Colours, FEWS

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
A: If a band covered a song of us they would probably do it way better and take all credits. So only bands who are worse.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: No future

Q: Any parting words?
A: TBTCI is great, Bye
